Some shots of the festive season taken over the holidays while visiting family. Christmas Lights are always a nice thing to see.

The Supermoon

Earlier this week the moon was the closest to the earth that it has been in a very long time. As such there has been a plethora of photos of the moon in the night sky. Well I am no different. I took some time to set up the tripod and camera to take some shots.

Shooting at Night

I had the opportunity to practice some night photography this week. I was afforded the opportunity to head downtown to the city center with my camera and a tripod. Given that night falls earlier now it was still relatively early in the evening so there was plenty of subject matter to capture. Here is a shot of the City Hall

Of course there are some other things that can be done at night with a slow shutter speed. The next couple of shots were taken at ISO 100 at a 4 second exposure time. It provides a neat effect with the lights forming trails.

With the Christmas Season upon us there is a plethora of houses lit with multi hued glittering incandescence. On my travels I managed to come across a few of these houses covered in light with such beauty that I had to capture the image for posterity. Here are just a few.
