Blue Skies

The sky today had no clouds…unfortunately when that is the case in winter time no clouds is usually accompanied by cold temperatures. Today was no different. The mercury plunged to a frosty -30º Celcius. Needless to say I stepped outside for only a moment to capture this shot of the blue sky.

Opposites

Today’s theme was opposites so I figured why not combine them in the same picture. A glass of water in front of a fire. FIRE & WATER.

WBG Photography & Graphics – Home

I as well as photography like to create graphics using a number of programs. These include Xara Designer Pro X Design software by Xara,

Inkscape , Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and a number of others. Many times I will start with a photograph that I have taken and turn the picture into a Vector drawing. Sometimes I will take other photos that I like and create vectors from them. A good number of them can be found at WBG Photography & Graphics – Home.

Each of these programs come with different strengths and weaknesses. I switch back and forth from time to time. Both Xara Designer Pro and Inkscape are capable of rendering raster images(PNG, JPG, etc) they are in fact native vector programs saving in EPS, SVG etc, while Sketchbook Pro is solely a Raster image program.

The Start of a New year

Well I have added more material to my Deviant Art page. I continue to experiment with Xara Xtreme to see what type of pictures I can create. So far I have created a number of pictures of Animals, people and things like cars. You can see some of them at the site. I have also included a number of thumbnails in this blog.

From the thumbnails you can see that there are a number of diverse pictures that are capable and the program allows you to add even more editing abilities. For these simple vector drawings I have not enabled any of the advanced program features of the application. Who knows perhaps in time I will explore even more of the capabilities.
